Feeling safe during labor is such an important thing! You need to be ready AND you need to ensure your provider and hospital are ready for you to feel safe during labor. Asking questions is the best way to do this. What is standard care? What if you want something different? If there is a change, will they ask permission?
These questions are not a birth plan. Instead, they bring up potential situations that may arise, or standard care that you may or may not want. Most of the questions came from the book: Ina May's Guide to childbirth (I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERY PREGNANT WOMAN!) I wanted to put it together to share with you to help you align with your provider and birthing location.
Each question is explained in this video to help you feel safe during labor.
You can grab the questions to ask your provider and hospital here: https://www.heyshayla.com/feelsafeduringlaborblog
I hope this is helpful and makes you feel safer and more prepared for labor. You got this, ma!
