1. What do your top 5 most viewed videos tell you?
2. How will viewers find your videos?
3. How do viewers find your Channel?
4. What videos are getting you subscribers?
I want to start by saying, do not get too caught up in the numbers.
These analytics are good for understanding what content to create based on what has worked! It is not used to make you feel good or bad. The truth is once you do this consistently for 2 years you'll be cookin!
1. What do your top 5 most viewed videos tell you
First things first, how do you find your top 5 most viewed videos?:
1. Go to your YouTube channel
2. Click “Videos”

3. Click “Sort By” > “Most Popular”

Now you will see your top most popular videos!
Looking at the top 5
– How are the topics Similar?:
Do you have a bunch of videos about travel, about festivals? With your sister? These are the videos that your viewers like!
Ask yourself: Can you make more videos around this topic? Can you create a playlist around this topic including other people's videos?
– Are they different?
This could mean that you have created a video that people are searching for that doesn't have much to do with your topic. One of my most popular videos when I started was “Yoga for Teens” and my channel was all about Travel!
Ask yourself:
What DO the videos have in common? Are you always smiling big in your Thumbnail? Are they googleable titles? Is your sister in all of the popular ones?
Then decide:
– Can you create more content or even do a series around any of these videos? For example if I wanted to, I could have done more yoga videos to support the yoga for teens video. But I was on my travel train and wasn't going to be derailed. But I could maybe do a few more about solo travel tips!
– Do you have playlists around these topics? Either from more of your own content or sharing other peoples videos in your playlist. If you forget why, it's because it will keep people on your channel which youtube likes. More info on that in the Playlists Chapter.

2. Mistakes: “Don't make this mistake when becoming an Au Pair”
3. Interview: “Interview an Au Pair”
4. Must know: “3 things you must know before becoming an Au Pair”
5. Specific: “US Au Pair in Spain”

(1) it will give them a reason to digest more information about a similar topic from you
(2) people are searching this, give them more content to find!
A check-in.
This is a good way to tell if YouTube (and Google) know what your channel is about. Are these topics relevant to your channel? GOOD that means that your Keywords and SEO are working!
No? Maybe you got lucky on a video, figure out WHY.

Are the popular search topics (#3) similar to the popular videos (#2)?
What are some video ideas around popular search topics?
4. Where are people subscribing?
How to find where you're getting the most subscriptions:
1. Go to your YouTube channel
2. Click on “Creator Studio”
3. “Analytics”
4. “Subscribers in the bottom right corner

5. Here you will see where the majority of your subscribers are coming from!
6. Click “YouTube Watch Page”
(Watch Page means people watched your video from your page)
7. Now you can see which videos getting you the most subscribers.
Why is this important?
Now you know which videos are causing people to subscribe AND which videos are causing people to unsubscribe.
This tells you exactly what your audience is into. However, this doesn't mean let your audience dictate what YOU want to post, it just tells you what kind of information or style of video they like. Knowledge is power people!
For example: I started doing LIVE videos with my sister, these videos did okay with views but lead to lots of unsubscribes. This means that my audience prefers videos that are snappy and fast-paced unlike how the LIVE videos can sometimes be. I am not upset about the loss of subscribers because live videos are something that I would like to do more of. I can either use this information and know that I will be going through a subscriber plateau while in transition to doing more lives (risky).
OR I can say that my audience doesn't like LIVE videos and I shouldn't continue to do them.
OR I can guess they don't like them because they're not snappy and work on making shorter snappier live videos.
Don't be afraid to experiment!!
Even at the cost of losing subscribers is worth it if I want to switch gears and try different things to make your life better or happier.
For me, I want to do more Lives because it's easier than creating a video EVERY. SINGLE. WEEK. A live is a way for me to connect with my audience in a new way, and save 12 hours of filming/editing/uploading. I just need to be sure that I have a topic to talk about that is well thought out and engaging!
It's always a giant experiment, don't be afraid to test things out. If they fail, figure out WHY then just go back to what WAS working.
